Registration

The enclosed enrolment form must be fully completed and returned to us. At the same time, a deposit of 150 euros should be paid by bank transfer. This amount will be deducted from the total course price.

On receipt of both registration form and deposit we will send you confirmation of your booking. Our confirmation will entitle you to participate in the relevant course.

The remaining course and accommodation fees should be paid 2 weeks before the course starts.
For courses in Madrid, the remaining course and accommodation fees can also be paid before or on the first day of your course. Should you apply less than 30 days before the starting date, we may be unable to guarantee the requested type of accommodation.

Accommodation in Madrid must be paid in cash. If you pay by credit card, there will be an extra charge of 5%.

Content of services

The services provided will be as described on the enrolment form once the client has applied for a specific course and Contacto has confirmed his/her booking. Course fees include:enrolment, lessons, teaching materials, use of the library and of internet, cultural programme and services. Course fees do not include the following: admission charges and travel expenses for all visits and events outside our premises, excursions, cooking workshops, wine-tasting, transfer from the airport, as well as any service not specially comprised. We reserve the right to modify our cultural programme or to cancel cultural activities if the minimum number of participants is not reached.

Activities and services provided by a third party will be subject to the terms and conditions of the latter.

Changes/cancellation

The client is allowed to change course dates or types up to 4 weeks prior to the start of the course, subject to availability.

In the event of a cancellation, Contacto must be notified in writing. If receipt of the cancellation occurs at least 30 days before the starting date the money already paid will be refunded except for a cancellation fee of 75 euros. A fee of 150 euros will be charged for late cancellations (receipt of the cancellation less than 30 days before the starting date). Should a client leave the course before the end or fail to arrive for the course without giving notice of cancellation in the period or manner indicated above, he/she will be required to pay the full price of the course and the accommodation.

In the high season, the clases could take place in rooms other than Academia Contacto’s and the intensive course could also take placein the afternoon.    

Course extension

Clients who wish to extend the duration of their course should inform Contacto one week before the start of the new course. The required fee can be settled up to the first day of the new course, at the very latest. It may not always be possible to retain the same accommodation as in the original course. 

Public holidays

There will be no lessons on public holidays. In Madrid, half of the cancelled lessons will be held during the same week.

Age / Number of participants

Students should be at least 17 / 18 years old.

The minimum number of participants in a course is two students for Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla, three for Alicante and Granada.

If there isn’t a sufficient number of students for the requested level of Spanish we will offer the student half the number of classes as individual lessons.

Visa

Visas are subject to the legislation in force at any time for any person according to his/her circumstances.

Insurance

Our clients are insured against injuries when they are within our school premises. Contacto or the host families will not be held responsible in the event of accidents, illnesses, loss or theft of valuables. We recommend taking out appropriate insurance before the journey.

Termination of contract by Contacto

Contacto reserves the right to terminate the contract of any client who would commit one of the serious offences indicated in its Standards of Behaviour, which he/she will have to know and accept. No refund would be made in this case.

Place of jurisdiction

The place of jurisdiction for both parties is Madrid. Any legal expenses incurred by Contacto will have to be carried by the client, regardless of the sentence.
